Complex and sensitive investigations

Laura Esquivel brings The Advisory Bureau and its clients 17 years of accomplished law enforcement experience, including 11 years as a police officer and investigator with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and six years as a detective with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office (LADA).

Laura has conducted hundreds of complex and sensitive investigations through assignments with the LAPD's Sexual Assault Investigation Unit and Juvenile Crimes Investigation Unit, as an LAPD liaison to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, and as a detective with the LADA Bureau of Investigation. This diverse background provides The Advisory Bureau with specialized expertise in sexual assault, juvenile and white-collar crime investigations, investigative case management, and evidence preservation, retention, and chain-of-custody practices.

While serving as an acting detective sergeant, she has managed LADA's chain-of-custody evidence system, presiding over thousands of items of criminal evidence.

Imaging Court Exhibits

She coordinated the District Attorney's Imaging Court Exhibits Program.

Mentorship and Training

Laura serves on the District Attorney Investigators' Mentorship Committee and brings specialized experience in community-based training through the Pathways Mentorship Program.
